The Community Storage Initiative (CSI) is focused on collaborative information sharing and coordinated market development efforts in support of wide-scale implementation of energy storage technologies that are commonly located in communities across the country.
Beneficial Electrification is the use of electricity in end-uses that would otherwise be powered by fossil fuels to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Community storage and CSI are an important and component of a broader beneficial electrification effort.
NRECA is hosting a one and a half-day forum that will focus on the opportunities and benefits of Beneficial Electrification. At this forum, leaders of the electric industry will share their research on the win-win-win of beneficial electrification. Then engage in a collaborative discussion on this opportunity, to help shape the next steps the cooperative community will take with this opportunity. It is also a unique opportunity for members and leaders in the electric industry to start a collaborative discussion on Beneficial Electrification.
